Indeed, this perspective must underlie everything you do, so the starting point is to think through how being persuaded looks from the other person’s point of view. There are three aspects to other people’s views that need to be considered and then borne in mind: (1) how they feel, (2) what they want and (3) how they go about making a decision to agree to act, or not.

Intangible some points may be, but they can still be a powerful component of any case. A final point completes the picture here: some decisions are more important than others and therefore may be seen to warrant more thought. Where a decision is of this sort, people may actively want it to be considered.
