This e-book highlights crucial features of sustainability within the Additive production (AM) box in separate volumes. It demonstrates the main points of this know-how and examines its implications for sustainability during the whole product existence cycle, embedded carbon, and destiny learn efforts that would be essential to movement this expertise in the direction of sustainable mainstream construction. Sustainability is not anything new for any business box, and AM isn't any exception. consequently, industrialists and scientists alike are intensively engaged in examine to advertise sustainability during this vital field.

Download e-book for kindle: Reliability and Optimal Maintenance by Hongzhou Wang

For a few structures, resembling airplane, submarines, army platforms and aerospace structures, this can be very very important to prevent failure in the course of real operation since it is risky and disastrous. The research of varied upkeep guidelines and types so as to enhance approach reliability, to avoid the prevalence of approach failure, and to minimize upkeep expenses is a crucial quarter in reliability engineering.

Get Batch distillation: design and operation PDF

The batch distillation approach has existed for plenty of centuries. it truly is maybe the oldest know-how for keeping apart or purifying liquid combos and is the main usually used separation approach in batch strategies. within the final 25 years, with non-stop improvement of speedier desktops and complex numerical equipment, there were many released works utilizing designated mathematical types with rigorous actual estate calculations and complicated optimisation concepts to deal with numerous very important concerns, corresponding to number of column configurations, layout, operation, off-cut recycling, use of batch distillation in reactive and extractive modes, and so on.

Operations Management: Policy, Practice and Performance by Steve Brown, Kate Blackmon, Paul Cousins, Harvey Maylor PDF

'Operations administration: coverage, practices, functionality development' is the newest cutting-edge method of operations administration. It presents new leading edge enter into operations administration thought and perform that can not be present in the other textual content. Discussing either strategic and tactical inputs it combines and balances carrier and production operations.

Download e-book for kindle: Handbook for Critical Cleaning: Applications, Processes, and by Barbara Kanegsberg, Ed Kanegsberg

Functions, techniques, and Controls is the second one quantity within the guide for severe cleansing, moment variation. in the event you fresh your product in the course of production? if this is the case, whilst and the way? cleansing is vital for correct functionality, optimum caliber, and elevated revenues. insufficient cleansing of product parts can result in catastrophic failure of the full method and critical risks to members and most of the people.

First, the literature on all the studies led to the characterisation of the environmental impact of additive manufacturing processes. The studies on electric energy consumption of these processes are analysed here, and then some studies taking into account raw material and all the flows through the process are detailed. Secondly, a new methodology in order to evaluate, with accuracy, the environmental impact of a part from its CAD model is presented. In this methodology, the work is not focused only on electrical consumption but also on fluids and material consumption which also contribute to the environmental impact.

Indeed, a vision being interested only in one stage can lead to a wrong analysis because the environmental impacts which could be minimised during a stage can be drastically increased in another one. For instance, when Fig. 15 Life-cycle stages and the manufacturing phase 48 O. Kerbrat et al. Fig. 16 Methodology for assessing environmental impact of a set part process considering a directed energy deposition process such as projection of powders, it seems little sensible to be interested only in the manufacturing stage without being concerned in the stage of production of powder or the finishing postprocess.

Y. S. M. 1007/978-981-10-0606-7_2 31 32 O. Kerbrat et al. 1 Introduction This chapter gives an overall view of the environmental impact assessment applied to additive manufacturing processes. As young as the additive processes are compared to more traditional ones, the literature on this topic is relatively recent, but the number of publications drastically increases. A whole methodology to assess environmental impact is presented, with a case study in laser cladding, a directed energy deposition process.
